The 2017 Recruit Class graduated from the Quincy Fire Academy on Thursday.  These 27 new recruits bring staffing back to levels the Quincy Fire Department hasn't seen since 2003.  These new firefighters will attend the O2X Health and Wellness training next week and start at their assignments throughout fire stations in Quincy on Saturday, May 27th.
The Quincy Fire Hockey Team came back from an early 3-0 deficit and rallied for a 5-4 win against the Quincy Police.  Quincy Fire scored the game winning goal with just 21 seconds to go in the game.
Members of Local 792 stood at attention while the Funeral for former longtime Quincy City Clerk John Gillis passed by City Hall under an American Flag hoisted by 2 Quincy Fire Aerial Ladders earlier this week.  We were honored to be able to honor John, who was a Quincy Firefighter briefly in the 1940's after returning from his service as a Marine in World War 2.
Quincy Firefighters Association Local 792 urges all Quincy Residents to go to www.brewsterambulance.com/smart911 and set up your Smart911 profile.  This is a great tool that Brewster Ambulance, the new ambulance provider in the city of Quincy starting July 1st has made available for Quincy residents.
